The Rear Guard

“Is not
this the kind of
fasting I have
chosen:

to loose
the chains of
injustice

and
untie the cords
of the yoke,

to set
the oppressed
free and break
every
yoke?

Is it not
to share your
food with the
hungry

and
to provide
the poor wanderer
with shelter —

when you
see the naked,
to clothe
him,

and
not to
turn away from
your own flesh
and blood?

Then
your light
will break forth
like the
dawn,

and
your healing
will quickly
appear;

then
your righteousness
will go before
you,

and
the glory of
the LORD will be
your rear
guard.

기뻐하는
금식은 흉악의
결박을 풀어
주며

멍에의
줄을 끌러주며

압제 당하는 자를
자유케 하며

모든
멍에를
꺾는 것이
아니겠느냐

주린 자에게
네 식물을 나눠

유리하는
빈민을 네 집에
들이며

네 골육을

네 빛이
