For Our Good

If
you
are not
disciplined—

and
everyone
undergoes
discipline—

then

you
are not
legitimate,

not
true sons
and daughters
at all.

Moreover,

we
have all had
human fathers

who
disciplined us
and we respected
them for
it.

How
much more
should we
submit

to
the Father of
spirits and
live!

They
disciplined us
for a little
while

as
they thought
best;

but

God
disciplines us
for our
good,

in order
that we may
share in his
holiness.

징계는
다 받는
것이거늘

너희에게
없으면

사생자요
친아들이
아니니라

또 우리
육신의 아버지가
우리를 징계하여도
공경하였거든

하물며

모든 영의
아버지께 더욱
복종하며 살려 하지
않겠느냐

잠시 자기의
뜻대로
