나의 가치
어느 대학교수가 강의 도중 갑자기 5만원짜리 지폐를 꺼내 들었다.
“이거 가질 사람 손들어 보세요?” 라고 했더니 모든 학생이 손을 들었다.
그걸 본 교수는 갑자기 5만원짜리 지폐를 주먹으로 꽉 쥐어서 꾸기더니 다시 물었다.
“이거 가질 사람 손들어 보세요?”
그랬더니 이번에도 모든 학생이 손을 들었다.
교수는 또 그걸 다시 바닥에 내팽겨쳐서 발로 밟았다.
그 지폐는 꾸겨지고 신발자국이 묻어서 더러워졌다.
교수가 또 다시 물었다.
“이거 가질 사람?”
당연히 학생들은 이번에도 손들었다. 그걸 본 교수가 학생들에게 말했다.
“꾸겨지고 더러워진 5만원짜리 지폐일지라도 그 가치는 변하지 않는다는 것을 잘 알고 있는 것처럼
나의 가치도 마찬가지입니다.
꾸겨지고 더러워진 나일지라도 그것의 가치는 전과 다르지 않게 소중한 것이랍니다.”
자신의 가치는 무엇보다 소중한 것입니다. 나란 것의 가치를 소중히 해줬으면 좋겠습니다.
소중히 하는 ‘나’ 못지 않게 내가 사랑하는 사람들
그 가치를 얕보지 않았으면 하는 바람입니다.
