Hebrews Chapter 12
12:1
Therefore,
since we are
surrounded by such
a great cloud of witnesses,
let us
throw off
everything that
hinders
and
the sin that
so easily
entangles.
And
let us run
with perseverance
the race marked out for us,
2
fixing
our eyes on
Jesus,
the pioneer
and perfecter of
faith.
For the joy
set before him
he endured
the cross, scorning
its shame,
and
sat down
at the right hand of
the throne of God.
3
Consider
him who endured
such opposition
from sinners,
so
that
you
will not
grow weary
and
lose heart.
God Disciplines His Children
4
In
your struggle
against sin,
you
have not yet
resisted
to
the point of
shedding your blood.
5
And
have you
completely forgotten
this word of
encouragement
that addresses you
as
a father
addresses his son?
It
says,
“My son,
do not
make light of
the Lord’s discipline,
and
do not
lose heart
when
he
rebukes
you,
6
because
the Lord
disciplines
the one
he loves,
and
he
chastens
everyone
he accepts
as his son.”
7
Endure
hardship
as discipline;
God
is treating you
as his children.
For
what children
are not disciplined
by their father?
8
If
you are not
disciplined—
and
everyone
undergoes discipline—
then
you are not
legitimate,
not
true sons
and daughters
at all.
9
Moreover,
we have
all had human fathers
who disciplined us
and we
respected them
for it.
How
much more
should we submit
to
the Father
of spirits and live!
10
They
disciplined us
for a little while
as
they thought
best;
but
God
disciplines
us
for our good,
in
order that
we
may share
in
his holiness.
11
No discipline
seems pleasant at the time,
but
painful.
Later on,
however,
it
produces
a harvest of
righteousness
and
peace
for those
who have been
trained by it.
12
Therefore,
strengthen
your feeble arms
and
weak knees.
13
“Make level paths
for your feet,”
so that
the lame may not be
disabled,
but
rather
healed.
Warning and Encouragement
14
Make
every effort
to live in peace
with
everyone
and
to be holy;
without
holiness
no one
will see
the Lord.
15
See to it
that no one
falls short of the grace
of God
and that
no bitter root
grows up
to cause trouble
and defile many.
16
See that
no one
is
sexually immoral,
or
is godless
like Esau,
who
for a single meal
sold
his inheritance
rights
as
the oldest
son.
17
Afterward,
as you know,
when
he wanted to
inherit this blessing,
he was rejected.
Even though
he sought the blessing
with tears,
he
could not
change
what
he had done.
The Mountain of Fear and the Mountain of Joy
18
You
have not
come to a mountain
that
can be
touched
and
that is burning
with fire;
to darkness,
gloom and storm;
19
to
a trumpet
blastor
to
such
a voice speaking
words
that
those who
heard it begged
that
no further word
be spoken to them,
20
because
they could not
bear
what was
commanded:
“If even
an animal touches
the mountain,
it
must be
stoned to death.”
21
The sight
was so terrifying
that
Moses said,
“I am trembling with fear.”
22
But
you have
come to Mount Zion,
to
the city of
the living God,
the heavenly
Jerusalem.
You
have come
to thousands upon
thousands
of
angels
in
joyful
assembly,
23
to the church
of the firstborn,
whose names
are written in heaven.
You
have come
to God,
the Judge
of all,
to
the spirits of
the righteous
made
perfect,
24
to
Jesus
the mediator of
a new covenant,
and
to the sprinkled
blood
that speaks
a better word
than
the blood of
Abel.
25
See to it
that
you
do not
refuse him
who speaks.
If
they did not
escape
when
they refused him
who warned them on earth,
how
much less
will we,
if we
turn away
from him
who
warns us
from heaven?
26
At that time
his voice shook the earth,
but now
he has promised,
“Once more
I will shake
not only
the earth
but also
the heavens.”
27
The words
“once more” indicate
the removing of
what
can be shaken—
that is,
created things—
so that
what cannot
be shaken
may
remain.
28
Therefore,
since
we are receiving
a kingdom
that
cannot be
shaken,
let us
be thankful,
and
so worship
God
acceptably
with
reverence
and
awe,
29
for our “God is
a consuming fire.”

허다한 증인들이 있으니

무거운 것과
얽매이기 쉬운
죄를
벗어 버리고
인내로써
우리 앞에 당한
경주를 하며
12:2
믿음의 주요
또 온전하게 하시는 이인
예수를 바라보자
그는
그 앞에 있는
기쁨을 위하여
십자가를 참으사
부끄러움을 개의치
아니하시더니
하나님
보좌 우편에
앉으셨느니라
12:3
너희가
피곤하여
낙심하지 않기
위하여
죄인들이
이같이 자기에게
거역한 일을 참으신 이를
생각하라
12:4
너희가
죄와 싸우되
아직
피 흘리기까지는
대항하지 아니하고
12:5
또 아들들에게
권하는 것 같이
너희에게
권면하신 말씀도
잊었도다
일렀으되
내 아들아
주의
징계( discipline 훈련)
하심을
경히 여기지 말며
그에게
꾸지람을 받을 때에
낙심하지 말라
12:6
주께서
그 사랑하시는 자를
징계하시고
그가 받아들이시는
아들마다
채찍질(chastens 훈육)
하심이라 하였으니
12:7
너희가 참음은
징계( discipline 훈련)를
받기 위함이라
하나님이
아들과 같이
너희를 대우하시나니
어찌
아버지가
징계하지 않는 아들이
있으리요
12:8
징계( discipline 훈련)는
다 받는 것이거늘
너희에게 없으면
사생자요
친아들이 아니니라
12:9
또 우리 육신의 아버지가
우리를 징계( discipline 훈련)하여도
공경하였거든
하물며
모든 영의 아버지께
더욱 복종하여 살려 하지 않겠느냐
12:10
그들은
잠시 자기의 뜻대로
우리를
징계( discipline 훈련)하였거니와
오직
하나님은
우리의 유익을 위하여
그의 거룩하심에
참여하게 하시느니라
12:11
무릇
징계( discipline 훈련)가
당시에는
즐거워 보이지 않고
슬퍼 보이나
후에
그로 말미암아
연단 받은 자들은
의와
평강의
열매를 맺느니라
12:12
그러므로
피곤한 손과
연약한 무릎을
일으켜 세우고
12:13
너희 발을
위하여
곧은 길을
만들어
저는 다리로 하여금
어그러지지 않고
고침을 받게 하라
12:14
모든 사람과
더불어
화평함과
거룩함을 따르라
이것이 없이는
아무도
주를 보지 못하리라
12:15
너희는
하나님의 은혜에
이르지 못하는 자가
없도록 하고
또 쓴 뿌리가
나서
괴롭게 하여
많은 사람이
이로 말미암아
더럽게 되지 않게 하며
12:16
음행하는 자와
혹
한 그릇 음식을
위하여
장자의
명분을 판 에서와 같이
망령된 자가
없도록
살피라
12:17
너희가
아는 바와 같이
그가 그 후에
축복을 이어받으려고
눈물을 흘리며
구하되
버린 바가 되어
회개할 기회를
얻지 못하였느니라
12:18
너희는
만질 수 있고
불이 붙는 산과
침침함과
흑암과 폭풍과
12:19
나팔소리와
말하는 소리가 있는 곳에
이른 것이 아니라
그 소리를 듣는 자들은
더 말씀하지 아니하시기를
구하였으니
12:20
이는 짐승이라도
산에 들어가면
돌로
침을 당하리라
하신 명령을
그들이
견디지 못함이라
12:21
그 보이는 바가
이렇듯 무섭기로
모세도
이르되 내가 심히 두렵고
떨린다 하였느니라
12:22
그러나
너희가
이른 곳은
시온 산과
살아 계신 하나님의
도성인
하늘의
예루살렘과
천만 천사와
12:23
하늘에 기록된
장자들의
모임과
교회와
만민의
심판자이신
하나님과
및
온전하게 된
의인의 영들과
12:24
새 언약의
중보자이신 예수와
및
아벨의 피보다
더 나은 것을 말하는
뿌린 피니라
12:25
너희는
삼가 말하신 이를
거역하지 말라
땅에서
경고하신 이를
거역한 그들이
피하지 못하였거든
하물며
하늘로부터
경고하신 이를
배반하는
우리일까보냐
12:26
그 때에는
그 소리가
땅을 진동하였거니와
이제는
약속하여 이르시되
내가
또 한 번 땅만 아니라
하늘도 진동하리라
하셨느니라
12:27
이 또 한 번이라 하심은
진동하지
아니하는 것을
영존하게 하기 위하여
진동할 것들
곧 만든 것들이
변동될 것을
나타내심이라
12:28
그러므로
우리가
흔들리지 않는
나라를 받았은즉
은혜를 받자
이로 말미암아
경건함과 두려움으로
하나님을
기쁘시게 섬길지니
12:29
우리 하나님은
소멸하는 불이심이라
