Jesus Comforts His Disciples

“Do not
let your hearts be
troubled.

You
believe in God;

believe
also in me.

Father’s house
has many rooms;

if
that were not so,

would
I have told you
that

I am
going there to prepare
a place for you?

And if I go
and prepare a place
for you,

I will come back and
take you to be with me

that
you also may be
where I am.

You know

the way to the place

where I am going.”

Thomas
said to him,

“Lord,

we don’t know
where you are going,

so
how can we
know the way?”

Jesus answered,

“I am the way

and the truth

and the life.

No one
comes to the Father

through me.

If you
really know me,

you will know
my Father
as well.

From now on,

you do know him

and have seen him.”

Philip said,

“Lord,

show us the Father
and that will be enough
for us.”

Jesus answered:

“Don’t you know me,

Philip,
even after I have been
among you such a long time?

Anyone
who has seen me
has seen the Father.

How can you say,
‘Show us the Father’?

Don’t you believe
that I am in the Father,

and that
the Father is in me?

The words I say to you
I do not speak
on my own authority.

Rather,
it is the Father,
living in me,

who is
doing his work.

Believe me
when I say that

I am in the Father
and the Father is in me;

or at least

believe
on the evidence
of the works themselves.

Very truly I tell you,

whoever
believes in me
will do the works
I have been doing,

and
they will do
even greater things
than these,

because
I am going to the Father.

I will do

whatever you ask

in my name,

so that
the Father may be
glorified in the Son.

You may ask me

for anything in my name,

and I will do it.

Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit

“If you love me,

keep my commands.

And I will ask the Father,

and he will give you

another advocate

to help you

and be with you

forever—

the Spirit of truth.

The world cannot

accept him,

it neither sees him

nor knows him.

But you know him,

for he lives with you

and will be in you.

I will not leave you

as orphans;

I will come to you.

Before long,

will not see me anymore,

I am in my Father,

Whoever has my commands

intend to show yourself

Jesus replied,

will obey my teaching.

My Father will love them,

and we will come to them

and make our home

with them.

who does not
love me will not obey
my teaching.

These words
you hear are not my own;

they belong to the Father
who sent me.

while still with you.

the Advocate,

the Holy Spirit,

the Father will send
in my name,

will teach you all things

will remind you

of everything

I have said to you.

Peace
I leave with you;

my peace I give you.

Galatians 5:1-26

It is for freedom
that Christ has
set us free.

Stand firm, then,

I, Paul, tell you
that if you let yourselves
be circumcised,

Christ will be of
no value to you
at all.

Again I declare
to every man

lets himself

he is obligated

law.

You who are
trying to be justified
by the law

have been
alienated from
Christ;

you have fallen away
from grace.

For through the Spirit
we eagerly await
by faith

the righteousness

hope.

For in Christ Jesus

circumcision

uncircumcision

has any value.

The only thing
that counts is
faith

expressing itself
through
love.

You were running
a good race.

Who cut in on you
to keep you
from

obeying
the truth?

That kind of persuasion
does not come from

calls you.

Brothers and sisters,

if I am
still preaching

As for those agitators,
I wish they would go

emasculate

Life by the Spirit

You, my brothers
and sisters, were called
to be free.

But

do not use

your freedom

to indulge

the flesh;

rather,

serve one another

humbly

in love.

For

the entire law

is

fulfilled

in keeping this

one command:

“Love your neighbor

as yourself.”

If you bite

and devour

each other,

watch out

or you will be destroyed

by each other.

So I say,

walk by the Spirit,

and you will not gratify

the desires of

the flesh.

For
the flesh desires
what is contrary to
the Spirit,

and the Spirit

the flesh.

They are in conflict
with each other,

so that
you are not to do
whatever you want.

But
if you are led by
the Spirit,

you are not
under the law.

The acts of the flesh

sexual immorality,

impurity

debauchery;

idolatry

and witchcraft;

hatred,

discord,

jealousy,

fits of rage,

selfish ambition,

factions

and envy;

and the like.

I warn you,
as I did before,

that
those who
live like this

will not

inherit

the kingdom of

God.

the fruit of
the Spirit

love,

and self-control.

Against such things
there is no law.

we live by the Spirit,

The Brokenhearted and The Wounds

Praise
the LORD.

How
good it is
to sing praises
to our

God,

how
pleasant
and fitting
to praise
him!

He
heals
the brokenhearted

and
binds up
their wounds.

He
determines
the number of
the stars

and
calls them
each by name.

Great
is
our Lord

and
mighty
in power;

his
understanding
has no
limit.

The LORD
sustains the
humble

but
casts
the wicked
to the ground.

Sing
to the LORD
with thanksgiving;

make
music to
our God on
the harp.

He covers
the sky with
clouds;

he
supplies
the earth with
rain

grass grow

in the strength
