현충일의 기도

오늘은
6월 6일
현충일(顯忠日)

목숨 바쳐
나라를 지킨
이들의 충성을
기념하는
날.

그들의
고귀한 희생이
헛되지
않도록

이 나라가
참 자유 
평화와
민주의 땅이 되게
하소서.

국민
한 사람
한 사람이

나라의
주인 되고
일꾼 되어

이웃사랑
겨레사랑의
아름다운 삶을
살게 하소서.

순국선열들이
아낌없이 
흘린
피와 땀과
눈물로

이 땅의
방방곡곡
온
생명이 생기 있게
하소서.

The day to commemorate
the men and women who have died
in military service  during ‘
the Korean War  and
other significant
wars or battles.

On this day,
a memorial ceremony is
held in Seoul National Cemetery,
first started in June 6 1956
